27th May – 4th June 2023 Creative Kernow

Rachel Jeffery – Art

Set in a Marquee at Trevena Cross Nursery, Breage. Find an eclectic mix of paintings, sculptures and prints to suit all pockets.

Personally I am drawn to paintings that I don’t understand, as soon as I see something obvious and representational I want to move on in search of something that intrigues me, something I can connect with.

I am primarily an abstract artist responding to my environment, the natural world and my travels. My earliest memories are of a fascination in pattern, staring up at the clouds from my pram or at the wallpaper in my bedroom, this has evolved into a passion for creating my own paintings. Making paintings allows me to indulge in the fascinating process of creating and aesthetics. I enjoy experimenting with a variety of media. I observe the shapes, colours and textures that surround me, whether it be whilst at home or away and I collect information by taking photos and drawing. This information feeds my creative flow back in my art studio.

I will never tire of watching waves breaking. Whilst living so close to the sea, it seems almost rude not to capture the energies and forms contained in water and waves.

I have a studio in a large garden in the grounds of a horticultural nursery. My studio is located up a lane behind the Marquee and a studio visit can therefore easily be arranged when you visit the Marquee.

We are so fortunate to have been selected to show at Trevena Cross, here you can park for free and enjoy lunch or refreshments at the gorgeous Garden Cafe and it is suitable for anyone who has mobility issues.
