Rachel Jeffery Art

Information

Rachel Jeffery is a mixed media artist and educator. Her work is predominantly connected to the Cornish Coves and her extensive garden.

“Predictable paintings bore me. The unpredictable excites me.”

Since graduating at Falmouth School of Art 30 years ago, she has developed her visual language, striving to connect with the places she loves to spend time in. It is her intention to convey the sense of a place, rather than a reproduction of it. Working in a loose and often abstracted way she allows an image to evolve in layers and a variety of media.

She has exhibited widely, in group shows and solo shows locally in the UK. She also enjoys teaching and curating exhibitions. Rachel has collectors in the USA and Germany and many regular purchasers in the UK.

Directions
Located on the main A394 we’re on convenient transport routes, including the main bus route. Easily accessible from the neighbouring towns of Helston and Penzance, and just a 5-minute drive from the historic harbour of Porthleven. We’re also an easy half-hour drive from Falmouth and not much further from Truro. PLEASE NOTE: If you use a sat nav to reach us, be aware the postcode TR13 9PY will bring you close but not right to the doorstep! Take note of the directions below… From Helston direction: Continue on the main road – A394 – towards Penzance. You will come to the village of Breage. Just as you leave the village you will see our sign on the right-hand side of the main road. From Penzance direction: Continue on the main road – A394 – towards Helston. As you pass through the village of Ashton you will see a couple of signs on the left hand side of the road warning of an upcoming left turn. Be careful – it is a bit of a blind turn into the entrance of the garden centre.
The map used on this profile is powered by Google maps and the pin use postcodes rather than very specific locations, in some cases this may not be accurate and it is always worth checking the venue directions on the participants page.
