Jo Downs Handmade Glass

Information

Join Jo at her Launceston Workshop & Gallery to delve into the intriguing World of Fused Glass Art and Design

Since the opening of her very first studios in 1997, Jo Downs has established herself as one of the world’s leading glass designers. Having begun her career in architectural glass, creating luxury installations for hotels, cruise liners and private clients, she went on to establish a string of galleries across Cornwall that showcase her uniquely beautiful giftware and interior collections.

Cornwall, where she has lived for more than twenty years, has been a significant influence on her work, which is known primarily for its dazzling ocean palette and coastal motifs. Jo launches new gallery collections each season, and offers a range of pieces from tiny trinket bowls to tea light stands and fold form vases, as well as large scale framed artworks, mirrors, wall mounted panels and extraordinary multi piece installations.

Jo will be working on new and experimental pieces during the Open Studios day and will be giving insights into what inspires her and her team to create stunning fused glass installations. The Gallery will also have multiple bespoke art pieces to view and purchase.
