Inspired by my surroundings where I live on the Rame Peninsula, I produce colourful, textured oil paintings and original collagraph prints.
Living on an estuary, where the River Tamar meets the sea, I cannot help but be influenced by my surroundings of boatyards, docks, mudflats and tidal changes. Weather-beaten surfaces, peeling paint and redundant manmade structures set against the natural environment feed my inspiration. I try to reflect these influences using a variety of materials – oil and cold wax paint, collagraph printmaking and the building of low relief plaster panels – all of which are excellent mediums for producing the surface texture that I love. Each of these methods involves the building up of the surface and then sanding it back to reveal hidden layers, marks and interesting textures with unexpected reveals of colour.

Parking is difficult at venue so use Millbrook car park. Exit onto West St. and turn right. At Devon & Cornwall pub turn left into Fore St. At crossroads, go straight over onto Blindwell Hill. Pine Cottage is first house on left, through an archway.
The map used on this profile is powered by Google maps and the pin use postcodes rather than very specific locations, in some cases this may not be accurate and it is always worth checking the venue directions on the participants page.
The venue has toilet facilities
The venue is family friendly
The venue is open all year round by appointment
Pine Cottage is approx. 350 metres from the car park. Unfortunately there is no access for those with mobility issues due to being located on a steep hill with steps up to the house.
